Kashmiri Rogan Josh Masala

STEPS OF COOKING

  1. In 1-1 ½ cup (175-200g) hot oil/ghee/butter fry 1kg cubes of beef/chicken/mutton until medium brown. Stir frequently.
  2. Add ½ medium, diced onion and 1 medium, diced tomato and fry for 5 minutes. Add 1 ½ -2 cups (500g) whipped plain yogurt and cook until ghee/oil separates from the gravy. Stir constantly.
  3. Add 1 packet Shan Kashmiri Rogan Josh Masala Mix and fry for few minutes. 
  4. Then add 1 ½ - 2 glasses of water and cook on low heat until the meat is tender.
  5. When the meat is tender, increase the heat and cook until ghee/oil separates. Stir constantly. Then add 1 cup (200g) milk/fresh cream and stir fry for few minutes on medium heat.


SERVING SUGGESTIONS:

Garnish with finely sliced tomatoes. Serve Rogan Josh” with naans or kulcha. 


TIPS FOR BEST RESULT:

Beef/Mutton: use portions from shoulder breast, ribs & tail.
