Stew / Do Piaza

STEPS OF COOKING

  1. In 1 ½ - 2 cups (250-350ml) hot oil add 1 - 1½ kg cubes of meat with bone, 10-15 cloves of coarsely chopped garlic, 2 tablespoons chopped ginger and fry until meat is light brown.
  2. Add 1-2 glasses of water. Cover and cook on low heat until meat is tender. 
  3. When the meat is tender increase heat to dry-up all the liquid. Add 1 – 1 ½ kg finely sliced onions and fry for 10 minutes. Add 1 packet Shan Stew/Dopiaza Masala Mix and 1 cup (200g) whipped yoghurt.
  4. Cover and cook until the onions separate from ghee/oil.


SERVING SUGGESTION

Serve with hot naans.


Meat in Condiment Curry


  1. In 1 cup (175 ml) hot oil add 1 medium sliced onion, 1 - 1½ kg cubes of meat with bone, 10-15 cloves of coarsely chopped garlic, 2 tablespoons chopped ginger and 1 packet Shan Stew/Dopiaza Masala Mix. Fry for about 10 minutes.
  2. Add 1-2 glasses of water and cook until meat is tender.
