Chicken Jalfrezi

STEPS OF COOKING

  1. Mix 1 packet Shan Chicken Jalfrezi Mix in half cup of water and apply to small cubes of 1kg boneless chicken. Marinate for 30 minutes.
  2. Boil 750g of finely chopped tomatoes in 1 cup of water until soft and tender. Sieve to remove skin and seeds. Keep tomato puree aside.
  3. Heat 3 tbsps. (1/2 cup) cooking oil and add marinated chicken cubes. Stir-fry for about 5 minutes. 
  4. Then add the tomato puree. Cover and cook on low heat for about 15 minutes.
  5. Add 1” square pieces of 2 medium (200g) chopped onions, 1” square pieces of 2 chopped green capsicums, 1” square cubes of 250g tomatoes, and 4 large lengthwise slit green chilies. Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes and remove from heat.


SERVING SUGGESTION

  1. Serve hot Chicken Jalfrezi with plain boiled rice or boiled noodles.


TIPS FOR BEST RESULTS

  1. Wash the chicken with 2 tablespoons white vinegar in half cup of water before use.
  2. You can replace 750g tomatoes with 500g tomato puree/sauce.
